Last week, The Adelaidian was treated to an exclusive event in the luxurious, fairy-lit VIP lounge called Good Fortune Inn, where guests sipped on some cool drinks under the warm outdoor heaters overlooking the festival and the strikingly illuminated Adelaide Oval. For those who love to eat, food was bountiful. Crispy spring rolls, minty cold rolls, crunchy soft shell crab tacos, pork buns, and dumplings were flowing throughout the evening. A food baby was unavoidable and a soon-to-be food coma was on its way.
Speeches from the CEO of the Festival Centre and Director Wilfred Wong , Chairman of the Hong Kong Arts Developmental Council took centre stage with speeches, and performers mingled with guests as the night went on (and as the drinks kept flowing). Quirky dressed up characters lit up the tent as they strolled the grounds and then braced our presence at the VIP lounge. Drifting back and forth between Asia and Adelaide, we were given an insight into Asia’s creative and expressive art scene, drool – worthy food, traditions, and their spirited way of life that encompasses cultural diversity in Adelaide and Australia as a whole. The event was just a taste of what Good Fortune Market is all about.
Good Fortune Market will continue to serve up scrumptious food and good times until October 2, for more information click here.
