There aren’t many places more exciting and mysterious than the Arctic. Filled with frozen mountains and plunging fjords, it’s an incredible place for tourists and explorers alike. One family of explorers, in particular, have founded a skincare range called Polaar based on discoveries they’ve made while venturing across the artic.
Following in his parent’s footsteps and embarking on arctic journeys from a young age, Daniel Kurbiel realised this icy world held a vast range of unknown flora within it. From this the idea behind Polaar was created, and working with Maria Olech, another polar flora researcher, they worked together to find natural beauty treatments.

From Siberian Ginseng to Boreal Algae to Glacier Water, the rare ingredients used in Polaar’s skincare range make it totally unique and quite fascinating. Siberian Ginseng survives in the undergrowth of the Tundra and it’s extremely adaptable and durable, full of micronutrients that help to restore the skin’s energy and radiance. Boreal Algae can be found in the polar oceans works to smooth and nourish, while Polar Water comes from melted icebergs to offer intense hydration and softening.
Our pick from the brand would be the Instant Eye Contour Multi Energiser. A roll-on eye serum from the Icy Magic range, it uses Siberian Ginseng to help with dark circles, puffiness and elasticity and Cilbooster to promote eyelash growth. As well as feeling really light but moisturising on the delicate skin around your eyes thanks to the silky formula, we really like the roll-on applicator. A little bit goes a long way with this product, so we just give it a little push down and the product comes out around the cool metal ball, which we then roll under our eyes and by the outer corner. To complement the eye cream, we also use the Eye Contour Multi Energiser Patches once every few weeks before we have a big event to brighten our eye area.
