Renew Adelaide has teamed up with Feast Festival headquarters, Raj House, to create new office spaces and creative areas for Fearless Theatre, Kids Camera Action! and OmMade Organic Skincare.
At the grand opening on Thursday night, we got to speak to the excited business owners and passionate employees about this next step for their companies.
Fearless Theatre is a not-for-profit organisation based in Adelaide that aims to empower marginalised people in the community through different theatre programs.
Kids Camera Action! was founded in 2010 and has been a mobile film school for young people, travelling to community centres, schools and even regional locations.
“We’ve been homeless for a long time… and we are just so pleased to be in a really unique and quirky building,” says owner and director, Chloe Gardner.
Petina Walsh, creator of OmMade, was pregnant in 2013 and couldn’t find any skincare products without any harmful chemicals included, so she decided to make her own.
“All her friends and family wanted to try it, and then she branched out in markets, creating from home and online. The biggest thing about this space [at Raj House] is the refill station where you can bring your empty jars and reuse them,’ says Kirsty King, co-worker of Petina.
“The mantra she always uses is ‘if you can’t eat it, don’t put it on your skin’.”
Tim Boundy, CEO of Renew Adelaide, says he’s excited to make this property a hub for creative people full of openness and welcomeness.
“Renew is here to help facilitate the connection between people with great ideas and people with property they want to activate. It’s really awesome that these guys have come together and turned this place into something cool,” says Tim.
The retro offices mixed with such an optimistic and creative atmosphere has really made us jealous of their workspaces. Hats off to the collaboration.
