Last Saturday, we hopped straight off of the plane to attend the glitzy and ever so glamorous Yellowglen Terrace at Sofitel Girls’ Day Out, Flemington Racecourse. Having previously experienced the utter fabulous-ness of Yellowglen at Adelaide Cup, we were all too excited to spend our day drinking sparkling while mixing and mingling with the fashionable crowd, this time, in Melbourne.
We dressed to the nines in Australian Fashion Labels, with Kristen flaunting a baby pink floral dress from Keepsake featuring ‘cold shoulder’ sleeves and Mel contrasting in a monochromatic C/meo Collective get-up paired with a fun top-hat fascinator by Melbourne-based milliner Wendy Scully. Dainty, intricate headbands appeared a popular fashion choice among Yellowglen’s VIP guests, as was Thurley‘s new season floral embroidered print.

There was a never-ending abundance of delectable canapes floating around, including the savoury likes of fresh salmon bites, aranchini balls, corndogs and the best crispy spring rolls ever, as well as sweets such as glitter-sprinkled cupcakes and deliciously dense, gold-flaked donuts. In fact, a wall was decorated entirely of donuts later on in afternoon, providing an aesthetic social media opportunity which had the masses swarming to take photos and update their #SGDO Snapchat.

Of course, the Yellowglen Sparkling was flowing generously too, accompanied by flowery feminine cocktails that were ever so fitting to the spring theme. A Yellowglen photo booth (which was never empty at any point in the day) sat centre of the terrace, attracting flocks of gals and guys alike who seized the opportunity to get snapped in their swanky springwear with friends.

We didn’t really get the chance to watch any of the race; with all of the pumping music, socialising and consuming of gourmet goods, Yellowglen had undoutedly put on the ultimate races party that we just couldn’t seem to tear ourselves away from. A huge thank you to the wonderful Kate & Co. team behind the smooth running of the event and, of course, Yellowglen for having us down!
