While many are celebrating Oyster Month this August, Jamie’s Italian is celebrating another winter delicacy – truffles. These rare, expensive and flavoursome mushrooms have been made more accessible with the introduction of weekly truffle specials, like Oozy Winter Truffle Risotto and Truffle and Wild Mushroom Ravioli.
We started the meal with some aperitif cocktails. Mel went for the Campari Spritz, a refreshing concoction of Campari, prosecco, soda water and orange, while Kristen opted for the Sbagliato, a variation on the time-old Negroni consisting of Campari, Cinzano Rosso, prosecco and garnished with a slice of orange and lemon peel.
This week’s special was the Truffle Fettuccini, a deliciously oozy pasta that was swimming in a creamy, buttery sauce with truffle oil and shaved truffles stirred throughout. The Campari cocktails were the perfect accompaniment to the rich pasta, as the bitterness of the drink cut through the thickness of the pasta sauce.
If you want to try Jamie’s weekly truffle dishes and Campari cocktails, they’ll be available until the 31st of August. We recommend booking a table in advance, as the restaurant can get quite busy and nobody likes the torture of waiting for a table while other people chow down!
You can find Jamie’s Italian at 2 King William Street, Adelaide, open from 12pm-10:30pm daily.
