From 15-step skincare routines to injecting salmon sperm, it can be hard to know which skincare trends to follow in 2024 and which might be better left in your TikTok saved. There are a couple of things though that are widely accepted as the norm now for retaining young, glowing skin (other than your classic cleanse and moisturise of course), and that’s chemical exfoliants and daily SPF.
While chemical peels can be expensive at a beauty clinic, there are lots of at-home options now that are slightly gentler, but with regular use, will still deliver you gorgeous skin. L’Oreal recently released a range called Bright Reveal, which includes a daily serum and an exfoliant peel.
The L’Oreal Bright Reveal Dark Spot Serum lists 10% niacinamide and amino-sulfonic acid as it’s key active ingredients, but glancing over the packaging I can also see caffeine, glycolic acid and salicylic acid listed, which are all great for getting that fresh glow. It’s recommended you use it morning and evening, and says in just one week you’ll notice dark spots like post-acne marks, sun spots and age marks will have faded and your skin is brighter. With consistent use it says results will keep improving, which is pretty standard for most skincare – gotta be consistent to see any results.
The L’Oreal Dark Spot Exfoliant Peel lists 25% AHA, BHA and PHA as well as niacinamide as its key actives, and is recommended to be used every other evening, with a maximum of four uses per week. You’re supposed to notice a difference after just one use, with skin looking renewed and brighter, but after two to three weeks of consistent use, you’ll notice all post-acne marks, sun spots and age marks will have visibly faded.
I tried the exfoliant peel out and can confirm my skin did look much more even and glowy after using it, it’s definitely a good one to have in your bathroom for when you want a quick glow-up but don’t have the time (or funds) to make it to a clinic. The packaging for this one is also really cool, love the unique shape of the bottle and the iridescent blue colouring.
If you’d like to try the L’Oreal Bright Reveal range for yourself, you can pick it up at most retailers that stock L’Oreal like Priceline and Coles.
