Although I attend regular yoga classes during the week to take time out and refocus, my Sunday mornings are usually for ‘nama’staying in bed’. But from the ohm to the nom-nom this exclusive event, hosted by Lululemon at the National Wine Centre, was energising and uplifting.
The day began with an uplifting and peaceful, yet challenging 75-minute yoga class, taken by the beautiful Inese Meiers of Cosmic Yoga. We started with a meditation, focusing on implanting the ideas of love, compassion, peace and joy into not just the practise, but to every detail in our lives. Inese then lead the keen yogi’s in the Hickinbotham Hall through sun salutations which built up to an energising flow.
My favourite part had to be the end, in tree pose when we interlocked fingers with our neighbours to build a sense of community and support. After a relaxing Shavasana, the Lululemon clad group were able to enjoy wine, nibbles and fresh cold pressed juice from the Juice Bureau in Argo Espresso.
With an offering of juice all colours of the rainbow, the Heartbeet juice with beetroot, apple, lemon and ginger along with the Sunshine juice with coconut water, orange, pineapple and passionfruit were the winners for me.
Also spread out were various cheese and antipasti platters and a selection of wines to taste. The 2012 Art and Soul Shiraz Grenache from Peter Lehman and the Hill Smith Estate Sauvignon Blanc were perfect compliments to the nibbles at 12pm wine o’clock.
Lululemon host several complimentary yoga classes every week in the Adelaide and Burnside stores. Check their Facebook page for weekly updates on the classes. To find out more click here.
