As someone who struggles a lot with sleep, having a cosy bedroom environment is really important to me. I take a lot of care to ensure I have good sleep hygiene, and that my bed is a really comfy place to sleep. Pro tip: don’t try and do this alone – the box is very heavy and manoeuvring it around solo is quite difficult. Also, don’t freak out if you accidentally clip the inner compression lining while unrolling it. I did and thought it would instantly expand before I’d properly laid it out over my bedframe. Fortunately, the expansion time is quite slow, which leaves room for human error during the whole process.
Once it was all inflated and ready to go, it was time to take it for a test run. That night I cosied up under my blanket and rolled around on it to get a feel for it. The first night it was quite firm, but I think it was still decompressing – the second night I started to feel more comfortable on it. It’s definitely on the firmer side which isn’t what I’m used to, however they do say a firmer mattress is much better for your back in the long term, and as someone who works at a desk and does struggle with back pain from time to time, I think this is a smart swap for future Kristen.
