Last Friday afternoon, we were seated down and treated to one of Stamford’s special Grand High Tea ourselves. With the bright sun beaming down through the glass panes, we felt the warmth of summer truly arriving as we sipped idly on our champagne. In a most Sex in the City manner, we cheers-ed to a successfully completed long, hard week of work and treated ourselves to a little afternoon tea.
Getting stuck into our 3-tier stand, we nibbled at a little bit of everything from the range of bites on offer. We started from the top with warm scones smothered in Beerenberg strawberry and apricot jam, working our way down to cucumber sandwiches, salmon and cream cheese sliders, soft curry puffs and quiches. Dessert treats saw the likes of green tea macaroons, double raspberry choux pastry puffs and blueberry cheesecakes finish off our delightful afternoon.
