Here in SA, we absolutely cannot get enough of our food and wine festivals. Cellar Door Fest, our most awarded food and wine festival, has just released its program for 2018, and there’s some great highlights on there.
Over 180 producers are coming together for next year’s festival, which will be jam-packed with tastings, dining, workshops and DIY classes. A ticket to the festival will gain you access to all the producers and tastings, however if you’re heading along on Friday night we’d definitely recommend the ‘Friday Night Knock-offs’ package, including entry for two and a bottle of wine for $60.
For avid cheese fanatics, a special DIY class held by Kris Lloyd of Woodside Cheese Wrights will walk you through the making of your own feta. It’s not every weekend you get taught to create cheese with one of Australia’s best.
Scrolling through all the long table dining options, it was hard for us to pick a favourite. Whether you’re a whisky fanatic, a craft beer aficionado or a wine connoisseur, there’s a corresponding culinary experience for you. However, for those who haven’t yet made a trip to one of the East End’s most highly-regarded establishments, the ‘Iberia and Vinteloper Long Table Dinner’ will give you a taste of what foodies have been raving about.
After all those tastings, you’ll probably be looking for somewhere to kick on afterwards, and ‘Food, Booze + Dancing Shoes’ will be the place to be Friday night. Keep the good vibes going with grazing platters by Jessie Spiby of Masterchef, drinks by Alpha Box and Dice and music by Porch Sessions.
