A few weeks ago, the only way Adelaidians could purchase Dion Lee clothing, other than online, was a few boutiques scattered around the city and a selection at David Jones. Now, the fashion gods have rewarded us for our patience by giving us the amazing pop-up store down Rundle Mall, and soon, a collaboration between the fabulous, young Australian designer and age-old retail institution Target.
Since launching in 2009, Dion Lee has focused on designing clean, streamlined women’s clothing using clever structure and aspects of bold colour mixed throughout staple monochrome pieces. While many woman lust after a piece from one of his amazing collections, not all can afford it as the price range generally starts from about $190 and reaches into the thousands. This is where Target steps in, who have been collaborating with other major designers like Missoni and Gabrielle Brown to bring high end designs down to a more affordable price point.
Designer Dion Lee says he is excited to create a collection that will give more women across Australia the opportunity to experience the brand.
“The Dion Lee for Target collection is designed to reflect the lifestyle of the contemporary woman, mixing elements of tailoring, lounge and active wear, to create the ultimate modern wardrobe.”
“The collection features signature tailored detailing, laser cut and technical fabrications, and a first-ever performance capsule.”
The one-off women’s capsule collection will be released on July 2nd, and will feature thirty-five day-to-night pieces, loungewear, performance wear and accessories ranging from $25 to $119.
