So we were already buzzing when we saw the original line-up of Handpicked Festival: with Matt Corby, Jet, San Cisco and The Jezabels, there’s no denying we’ve got a pretty damn good day ahead of us.

And just when we thought it couldn’t get any bigger, organisers have now added vintage pop sensations LEO, premier party band, Jimmy and the Mirrors, indie folk group, The Winter Gypsy, and talented musician, Alana Jagt, to the already impressive list.

“We are over the moon to snag such a sensational line up of local acts to play alongside our headliners… it’s incredibly exciting and such a big win for the state,” says event organiser, Kate Cooper.

LEO rose to fame after winning a Nova 91.9 competition to play alongside The Veronicas, and have since toured with acts such as The Jungle Giants, Andy Bull, New Empire and Miami Horror, and released their hits ‘Beautiful Mess’, ‘Veins’ and ‘All We Need’.

Known as Adelaide’s indie-pop answer to Mamma Mia and throwing flower parties, Jimmy and the Mirrors have toured with Flume, Art Vs Science and The Bangin’ Raquettes, and are excited to bring their energy and face paint to the festival.

Winner of Handpicked’s ‘local acts competition’, The Winter Gypsy, will be hitting the stage as part of the festival’s biggest ever line-up, and runner-up local musician, Alana Jagt, will be opening the festival with her old soul voice.

“With such an impressive list of finalists to choose, the competition went down to the wire… so we’re very excited to give two finalists the opportunity to perform and get their names out there,” says Kate Cooper.
