Jade and Beckett has barely launched yet, but the leather accessories label is already developing a following in Adelaide. With a focus on creating modern, handmade, leather goods, items like the nude and black chokers and structured little clutches have already become staples in our wardrobes.
Everything about the label has part of designer Emma McKinley woven into it, from the name of the label, which is a combination of both her children’s middle names, to how the label began. Emma’s grandmother had given her a beautiful leather vintage bad, and, intrigued by the stitching, Emma got to work trying to recreate the beauty she saw in the small detailing in the vintage bag.
As every bag is handmade by Emma herself, the amount of time and love that goes into each piece is phenomenal. One gorgeous little clutch takes Emma about a day to make, which really makes these pieces special and a keepsake you’ll want to keep for a long time. Their minimalist style ensures they’ll transfer between seasons, and the high quality leather means the bag will age and mature just like the holder!
Leather wrap belts are a specialty of the brand too, like the nude one pictured above that features the same detailed weaving that the chokers do. Emma has plans to create a few other styles of intricate and detailed belts too, similar to the corset-style favoured by Kim Kardashian-West.
Once Emma has launched her Jade and Beckett you’ll be able to place custom orders with her and bring your leather dream to life. If it’s one of the nifty little chokers you’re after, Emma has plans to be at the Adelaide Fashion Festival markets this year, and hopefully other markets before that!
