It started slowly. A fur-lined shoe here, a touch of satin there, a few embroidered patches on a pair of jeans. Before we knew it, luxe had taken over our social media feeds, a beautiful explosion of velvet, silk and sparkle.
We’re having a whole lot of fun playing around with fun fabrics and embellishments this season, so we made a list of all our favourite ways to add a little ~luxe~ to our everyday outfits.
Big Earrings
When it comes to earrings, you can’t go wrong with a good pair of tassels or some shiny gold hardware this season. Bauhaus on Rundle St have been our go-to for unique accessories for years, as they have some amazing designs, support independent labels and have really affordable pricing.
Satin Dress
These plain, slip-like dresses have to be the most versatile pieces of the season. Dress it up with heels and some jewellery, pop a t-shirt underneath and some sneakers for an easy street-style look or throw on with some flats and walk out the door for an effortless outfit. Choose a satin or velvet dress to add some texture to your outfit and make you seem that little more expensive.
Monogramming
Previously only offered when purchasing luxury goods, Monogramming has quickly taken the world by storm after brands like The Daily Edited made monogramming accessible to everyone. Add a little touch of personality to a phone case, purse or passport cover and feel like you’ve just a little bit fancy.
Sport-Luxe Sneakers
It’s time to get a little bit sport-luxe up in here. Since the first Rihanna x Puma ‘Fenty’ collection launched, the world has been going mad for luxurious sneakers. Velvet, metallic and satin fabrics are now popping up on sneakers everywhere, making for one of the coolest and most comfortable trends around.
Embroidered Boots
Thanks to Gucci, we’re seeing embroidered detailing and patches popping up on every item of clothing ever, including shoes. Update your outfit with some cute embroidered shoes, be it slides, boots or sneakers.
