Whoever thought of taking the iconic smashed avo and putting it in a crepe should win an award. Nothing completes a lazy Sunday in London like a nourishing brunch, and this week we wandered down to Holloway Road to explore Miki’s Paradise.
Originally known for their super shakes (which we didn’t order, as we could not possibly fathom fitting them in our stomachs at that stage), their menu also boasts a variety of sweet and savoury crepes, comforting hot drinks and energising smoothies. Kristen ordered the Breakfast Crepe: a light and fluffy crepe filled with museli, yoghurt, cacao powder, strawberries, blueberries and banana, drizzled with honey. Though it was under the ‘sweet’ section of the menu, it was actually quite light and refreshing, which is exactly what she was after.
Mel went for a savoury option and, after much deliberation over the mouthwatering choices, opted for a classic Smashed Avo Crepe with added feta.
We couldn’t help but also order a matcha latte, which matched perfectly to Kristen’s outfit. Right now we’re loving the matching suit trend, whether it’s a pastel power-suit, a cute blazer and shorts or the very Clueless-inspired check and gingham patterns. Kristen picked this green one up from Topshop on Oxford St, which she paired with a fun, pink handbag.
Mel got dressed up in her fave in-season trend with a pair of vertical-striped pants from Zara. She paired them with a simple white tee and blazer, adding some flair with a matching striped neck scarf. Her favourite accessory of the moment is definitely her brand new red embroidered handbag, found at the Brick Lane Vintage Market.
