~ Simply Spoilt ~ at Yelp’s Radelaide Love Affair

On Friday evening, Adelaide proved why it is indeed “rad” at Yelp’s Radelaide Love Affair, held at the Published Arthouse. The venue itself glorified the case in point, enhanced by the welcoming and charismatic Adelaidians showcasing their home-grown delights. Ample freebies were available, giving patrons a taste of the local products. These ranged from green juices, cold drip coffee, bouquets, vegan bath salts, delicious reds, salads, fine meats and fruit pastes.

It was incredible to see the quality of each and every product and the passion and knowledge of the staff. However, naturally, there were a few stalls that particularly tickled my fancy.

Bakery on O’Connell had me at Nutella with their to-die-for Nutella donut bombs.  Oh Deer Sugar, who sells vegan ‘food for the skin’, also stole my heart. Their popular soaps, bath salts and bath bombs not only smell sensational, but they are hand crafted right here in Adelaide – cruelty free!

Juice Lovers, of Regent Arcade let us taste their flavoursome, cold pressed, vegan juices which use local produce. The flavour combos (particularly ‘The C bomb’) were as bliss as their cacao balls. Let Them Eat, from The Central Market, also spoiled us with delicious delights. They had a number of salads on offer including a spiced chickpea, brown rice taboleh, raw carrot and quinoa and my favourite – mung bean. The Love Lettery, located in Topham Mall, displayed a number of their gorgeous gifts including their gift cards, crafted by local creatives. Itty Bitty Bunch also had fresh flowers on show. They gave guests beautiful take-home bunches which I’m sure are still brightening up bedrooms across the city. Local ciders and beers were also on offer including Adelaide Hills Cider, Prancing Pony and Lobo Cider. Plenty of fine wines and nibbles were shared too. We also tasted the creamy brie from Woodside Cheese which is well worth a buy!

While there were many winners in my eyes, Bowden based Gelista Premium Icecream seemed to be a crowd favourite, with a huge line all screaming for their free scoop of gelato.

Thank you to the local Adelaide stall owners and Yelp for spoiling us and making us even prouder Adelaidians (if possible)!
