With the popularity of dress hiring on a rapid rise, Something Borrowed Adelaide is one designer hire boutique you Adelaidian ladies ought to keep an eye on.
Many young girls and women alike dream of getting dolled up in a dress worth thousands of dollars, but not many get the chance to actually follow through with it. While we all know that these kinds of dresses are one in a million, its not nearly close to justifiable for us to spend a whole uni semester’s worth of pay on a single dress we’ll only ever wear for one night. We’ll be struggling enough as it is with that big ol’ ugly HECS debt on our shoulders, alongside the likes of rent, bills and basic survival necessities. Even for those who aren’t students like us, majority of you are still likely to have a heavy sea of financial responsibility to wade your way through.
The dresses we’d dream about used to be reserved for the rich and the famous, the celebrities on the red carpet with the unattainable social status. They used to be property of our imagination; but now, thanks to the introduction of dress hiring services, girls all around the world get the chance to feel like a superstar for a night.
Something Borrowed (SB) is one of the few premium dress hire services out there making our formerly unachievable dreams a reality. Having established in 2012 by current owner and operator Mia Theodoropoulos, the SB concept gained momentum in Perth and soon thereafter spread to other Australian cities with the introduction of a Melbourne boutique and an Adelaide boutique. Something Borrowed Adelaide was launched in December last year.
Offering luxe brands such as Ae’lkemi, Manning Cartell, Yeojin Bae, Lover, Carla Zampatti, Nicholas and more, Something Borrowed Adelaide is lending out designer pieces of a strictly high-end decorum. Some of the dresses can reach up to $4,000 a piece, with SB charging rental rates at just a tiny fraction of the original retail price.
Recently, we collaborated with Something Borrowed to shoot just some of their many beautiful dresses up for hire, flaunting the likes of Ae’lkemi, Portia & Scarlett, Thurley and many others. Fortunately, both Kristen and Mel had the help of SB Adelaide Store Manager Vincenza Demicoli to choose the best dresses to suit them (qualified styling is also a service that Something Borrowed offers all of its customers, free of cost).
