Just when you thought Norwood couldn’t get any better, St Louis House of Fine Ice Cream and Dessert have just opened the latest addition to their already extensive franchise. Located on the corner of the Parade and Queen Street, St Louis will be serving some of their much-loved favourites like crepes, waffles and their delectable, premium quality ice cream range, as well as a refreshed menu for the summer season.
At the media launch, we sampled an array of St Louis’ finest desserts, including the beautifully presented Eton Mess, which seriously looks like a piece of art served on a plate. This delicate dish is served with crunchy and gooey pieces of meringue, fresh cream, ice cream, fruit and coulis – a perfect choice for the warm balmy nights ahead.
For the pastry lovers, St Louis also offer a selection of freshly made pastries including croissants, blueberry danishes (a must try!), cakes and Snickers cannoli. They are an excellent accompaniment to any coffee or tea, especially an affogato, which is paired with their in-house ice cream. If you’re after something a little more decadent, opt for one of Louis’ Shakes, like the Salted Caramel Waffle Shake, the Wild Strawberry Shake and the Peanut Butter Brownie Shake.
Reminiscent of a Parisian cafe, St Louis’ interior is warm and inviting, with a vintage inspired bookshelf, dark wooden detail and panels, and a characteristic French flair that is fluent throughout the St Louis stores around Adelaide. With lovely summer evenings ahead, venture to the expansive outdoor seating area, perhaps with a dessert cocktail in hand, overlooking the cosmopolitan Parade, Norwood.
