This coming Tuesday the 20th will see the first of three divine whisky dinners take place at rooftop venue 2KW Bar and Restaurant.
Whisky embodies winter warmth at its finest; the burning sensation you feel upon each sip instantly heats up your body and acts as the ultimate way to combat any chilly evening, whether you’re indoors or out. In saying this, it’s oh-so fitted that 2KW would choose to carry out a Whisky Dinner series over the course of the three winter months!
Each dinner is set to showcase the wonders of whisky, with the first hosting Talisker as its pour of choice. On offer for tasting will be the Skye, the Distiller’s Edition, the Storm, the Port Ruighe and a very special, rather unique bottle of the 30 y/o which is worth a notable $800. Tickets are priced at $150pp, accounting for the ultimate whisky experience which includes all tastings, a delectable paired dinner and a most vibrant restaurant atmosphere.
The second dinner of the series will be held on Tuesday the 25th of July and will be a celebration of the Distiller’s Editions, set to showcase a range of different whisky labels including Glenkinchie, Oban, Dalwhinnie, Cragganmore and more. The third and final instalment of the series will be a Lagavulin dinner on the 22nd of August, going over the 8 y/o, the 12 y/o, the Distiller’s Edition, the 16 y/o and the 25 y/o.
If you’re a raging whisky fanatic but won’t be able to make any of the dinners listed above, it’s worth popping into 2KW when you get the chance if only to browse their extensive whisky list or even try their brand new cocktail addition: The Bon Scott. This delectable concoction is served warm – to the temperature of a hot chocolate or coffee – and is comprised of warmed whisky, apple, spiced syrup and butter. There’s actually quite a scarcity of mulled alcoholic beverages to be found here in Adelaide, so we couldn’t be more stoked that 2K have chosen to serve this particular cocktail heated!
