Adelaide goes mad for Minimax

If you’d told us a month ago a homewares store was going to generate so much buzz around it’s launch, we would have assumed you were joking. But then we went to the launch of Minimax and genuinely had our socks blown off about how ***aesthetic*** stock was and how much fun we had that evening.

Minimax originated in Melbourne, with its first store opening up in Toorak. As business boomed, they added two more prestigious postcodes to their collection and became a household name in Victoria.

In true Minimax style, Matt Moran and Callum Hann helped celebrate the launch of the first SA store by giving live cooking demonstrations in-store. The first dish they created was Crab Linguine with Peas and Chilli, a super-simple dish that they assured even the most basic chef can cook. Up next was an Asian-inspired dish, Pan Roasted Snapper with Bonito Master Stock and Asian Greens. This dish filled the whole room with a warming, ginger and bonito-fish smell that had everyone’s mouths watering. A few lucky people were chosen to sample each dish, and every single person in the room glared in jealously as they were able to indulge in the delicious-smelling food.

Once the demonstrations were done however, Callum’s catering company Sprout provided the room with some incredible food, including spicy Moroccan chicken-skewers, refreshing fish ceviche and tender meatballs.

Wandering around the store, we quietly imagined which pieces we would pick for our dream houses (see lamp above. need.) and mentally made a Christmas shopping list of things we needed for the family. Minimax also have a section full of scented candles and soaps, and we spent a little too long here smelling all the gorgeous pots that promised to make our homes smell like the Amalfi Coast.

If you’re on the hunt for some stylish new homewares (or you just need to update your Glasshouse Candle collection) make sure you visit Minimax at 222 The Parade, Norwood.
