The Adelaide Fashion Festival kicked off to a roaring start with its first runway: BNKR. The runway featured clothing from all four of their in-house clothing ranges, including Finders, Keepsake, the Fifth and C/MEO, as well as footwear from Jaggar. Vogue Australia Fashion Editor Philippa Moroney played stylist with this show, and left us mentally planning every outfit we would be wearing for the next six months.
Everyone’s favourite Russian model/designer extraordinaire Katya Komarova opened the show in Finders, strutting down the runway with enough sass to make spectators weak. We saw a crisp, white colour palette from Finders, broken up with a monochrome floral print and accented with orange stripes and delicate gold buttons and eyelets. The collection was very relaxed and flowing, giving off serious beach/loungewear vibes.
Keepsake soon followed in shades of white, mustard and khaki with the odd floral print scattered about. Keepsake generally offers more of a feminine, playful vibe than the other BNKR brands, and this collection was no exception. Sheer and lace materials were aplenty, as well as a heavy reflection of the ‘cold-shoulder’ trend.
The Fifth gave us the perfect basics we needed to build the foundation of our spring/summer wardrobes on, with relaxed and youthful denim options and some key sport luxe pieces thrown in for good measure. Our favourite piece from the Fifth was this gorgeous sheer black blouse with flowing bell sleeves and dotted with stars (pictured above).
The most structured and minimalist of the brands, C/MEO never fails to impress, and this collection was no different. Here we saw another monochromatic colour palette, with simple details like fringing and slits turning simple garments into statement pieces. Lots of the C/MEO pieces were created with the ability to layer, and we saw loads of this spring/summer styling trend creeping through with long, loose tops thrown over wide-legged pants.
