If we had to picture the perfect space for a Christmas function in London, this would be it. Newly launched at the Hilton London Metropole, Alpine-themed Après 23 really has everything to suit your holiday needs.
We attended the official launch last week and fell in love with… literally everything. To our right sat a gigantic table reaching from one side of the room to the next, filled to the brim with boards of charcuterie varieties such as Albion, Cerrunos Ham and Iceni and Moccus Salami. To our left, we entered a winter wonderland of white-washed furniture and sparkling Christmas trees coated in fake snow; Après 23 truly hit the nail on the head with the cosy ski lodge vibes. Add a picture-perfect panoramic view of London’s skyline, and you’ve got yourself a winner!
Of course, no function space is complete without its consumables on offer. Après 23 did not, we repeat, DID NOT disappoint with the spread. As mentioned before, their artisan charcuterie selection was on point. However, the cheese options stole our hearts. Think continuous refills of fondue and gooey raclette over boiled potatoes. Waiters also circulated the room with canapé tasters of their savoury dishes, offering the likes of raw tuna pieces, cooked salmon and pork belly bites.
And then there was the dessert… they actually dedicated a wall to it! Guests could browse the wall and take their pick of the showcased desserts. Salted caramel and chocolate creme with gingerbread and spiced apple and cranberry crumble were among those on offer. Following the savoury fondue, out came white chocolate and milk chocolate fondues as replacements. A total foodie’s dream? We think so.
