Esteemed vitamin brand Imedeen held a fun night celebrating everything skincare in the penthouse suite at The Mandrake Hotel, and we were lucky enough to be invited along. As well as beauty treatments, canapes and champagne, we also listened to A-list make-up artist Mary Greenwell and Dr Terry educate us on good skin habits.
For those not up to speed on what’s what in the beauty industry, Imedeen have been around since 1991, researching and developing vitamins that help keep your skin healthy. Using different combinations of vitamins, minerals and their exclusive Marine Complex, these supplements work from within to help you look good on the outside. The products in the range include things like Derma One, perfect for those aged 25-40 and using vitamin c and zinc, as well as Marine Complex to maintain healthy skin. Imedeen also has a Hair & Nails vitamin, with silica, biotin and zinc, and a Tan Optimiser, with carotenoids and vitamins c and e.
We started the evening off with some mini manis and an ultrasound skin consultation. The ultrasounds are a free service Imedeen offer at a select number of their Boots stockists, and they measure the amount of collagen in your skin. This is super handy if you’re thinking about starting to take any of the Imedeen supplements, as you can get regular scans to monitor the difference.
Next, it was time to settle in and get comfy for the talks. What we loved is most of the tips and tricks didn’t have to do with buying loads of products, but simple life changes that could make a world of difference to your skin. Things like drinking lots of water, eating a balanced diet, exercise and getting enough sleep are all things we know can help improve your health in any way, not just your skin. Using a silk pillowcase is something we’ve been hearing about for a while, and are planning on trying out soon. Don’t forget to apply your skincare to your neck and décolletage as well, not just your face, otherwise your face will look amazing in 20 years and your neck totally different!
We need to give a little shoutout to the spectacular space that is the Mandrake penthouse suite as well. Totally white and accented with marble, the room is literally goals. Contemporary art decked out the space, like a really cool chair with animal skin and bone-like fixtures. The bathroom was so big it was the size of our houses. A massive bath sits in the middle, with a separate room for showering. If anyone wants to take one of us here for the evening, we’d probably marry you.
