You may have seen Blossom Box Co. popping up over you social media lately, often in pictures with lucky girls clutching their hatbox of blooms excitedly. Blossom Box Co. stand out from other florists by being modern, unique and sophisticated. Rather than creating traditional boxes and bouquets of staggered blooms, founder Trinh Nguyen takes inspiration from Middle Eastern and European florists in using pristine roses to fill black and white hatboxes in a flat display.

Trinh loves roses as she believes that they’re elegant but simple and used to celebrate so many things. Peonies are her favourite, as they’re more densely packed that the traditional rose, giving off a fluffy, full look.
“I think peonies are so many girls’ favourite flowers because they’re still a rose but they’re much fluffier! When they open up they have so many petals and they’re so delicate. Roses are just so elegant and simple, but can be used for so many different purposes.”

Blossom Box Co. originally started as just a hobby, before blooming into a full grown business as people began to follow her on Instagram, asking her to create bouquets for them.
“I was just making flowers for friends and family, but then people were approaching me to do events. I created an Instagram page to showcase my work, and from there people started messaging me asking if they could order flowers. It started with a few orders a week, then went to a few orders a day, and now it’s gone crazy and I can’t manage it from home anymore!”
“For Valentine’s Day I didn’t sleep for two days, and for Mother’s Day I didn’t sleep for five! Because I’m the only one who makes the flowers, I had to do it all. I want everything to be from me because I feel it’s more personal.”
Decor around the Blossom Box Co. shop
Blossom Box Co. aim to create a shop space (opening on the 1st of July) that represents everything the company is about. From the simple white and pink colour scheme, to the trinkets and decor arranged around the room, the Blossom Box Co. shop is just as aesthetically appealing as their Instagram feed. Once everything is up and running, Trinh even aims to have a little tea area set up where customers can enjoy the space while drinking warm tea and chatting to their friends.
“We want it to be a very pretty store. I’ve got custom-made furniture coming in black in white and we’ll have a little area where customers can come in and have tea while I make their flowers . I want it to be a cute hangout place for our customers!”
Beautiful boxes of roses
As well as flowers, Blossom Box Co. also create hampers full of goodies like candles, skincare and fragrances, all of which come with a little bundle of roses. Collaborations with local artists will also be for sale, such as cards made by local calligraphers and bags from the charity Woven Angels.
“We had a girl come in here who does calligraphy, so we’re going to be working together to make all our cards.”
“We’re also going to stock Woven Angels, who sell woven bags that are made in homes in Africa where the weavers get paid a proper wage. All the profits after that go towards an orphanage in Africa.”
One of the hamper options
The gorgeous flowers come in two forms; regular and eternal. The regular roses start at around $15 a bunch and last about a week, but the eternal roses are what really impressed us. Starting at $150, they’re grown in a special chemical in Ecuador and last around a year with no maintenance before they start to whither and die.
The roses are available in a variety of pretty, natural colours like red, pink and white, or for the customer with particular taste there are a multitude of other colour options available. Everything from blues, blacks, yellow gold and rose gold can be found at Blossom Box Co., ready to really blow a special someone away.
