As if BRKLYN couldn’t get any cooler, already housing Soundpond, a jewish-style deli and, you know, the actual bar, they’ve gone and added a barber shop to the mix.
Crooked Cutting Studio, run by Kieren Kuzyk, offers mens and short-haired womens haircuts, following the same share-space and relaxed atmosphere found around the rest of BRKLYN.
Unlike other hairdressers, Crooked Cutting Studio is opens in the afternoon and closes around 10pm, allowing night owls and 9-5 workers to get their trim in the later hours of the day. Starting a night out on the town with a fresh trim and a cold beer from the bar? Sound good to us.
Australia Day Eve saw Kieren hosting a number of media and guests for a fabulous launch party, with tasty treats from the deli, cans of Moritz from the bar and music from the guys at Soundpond. Bailey Nelson had a little pop-up stall as well that kept us entertained for at least 10 minutes trying on all the cute and quirky frames.
You can find Crooked Cutting Studio upstairs on Rundle St in the BRKLYN space, open from 5pm-10pm Mondays and 3pm-10pm Tuesday until Saturday.
[Update: While BRKLYN is still alive and will, Crooked Cutting Studio is no longer open for business]
