Rumour Has It is a celebration of the musical journey of one of the greatest and best selling artists of this generation, Adele.
Her songs are powerful, emotional and soulful and her three albums have attracted worldwide praise and attention.
Naomi Price is an Australian cabaret singer, known from her time on Team Ricky in season 4 of The Voice. Price created Rumour Has It in 2012 with writing partner Adam Brunes, assembling three backup singers, including boyfriend Luke Kennedy and a live band.
Price, dressed in black as Adele describes her childhood, her dad leaving when she was three-years-old, her love of the Spice Girls, the friendship with Amy Winehouse and the meanings behind some of her greatest hits.
Price does a convincing job with hits such as Turning Tables, Chasing Pavements and Set Fire to the Rain but it was her performance of Skyfall, which gave me chills. Adele’s Oscar winning song for the James Bond film, Skyfall featured 007 style spotlights dancing around the stage but didn’t distract from Price’s excellent vocals. The performance stood out from even her version of one of her best hits Hello due to the passion and commitment she gave to the song.
Naomi Price as Adele was charming, funny and got the accent pretty spot on along with the potty mouth and the ability to make ‘Adele-aide’ fall more in love with her music.
Rumour Has It is playing at the Dustan Playhouse on June 24th and 25th. To book tickets click here.
