Sacré bleu!
Adelaide’s very own high-end fashion designer Paul Vasileff of Paolo Sebastian is due to launch his Fall/Winter ’16 couture collection, ‘Gilded Wings’, in Paris today.
Supported by the Adelaide Fashion Festival and South Australian government, the showcase will be held at the luxurious La Maison Champs Elysees during Haute Couture Fashion Week.
Paolo Sebastian is renowned for its fairytale-likeness, boasting delicate beadwork and intricate embroidery. The latest collection features all this and more, with many of its fabrics having been specially created for the collection.
“With each collection that we release we are trying to do something new and even better than the last, so that’s certainly motivation for the team,” Paul said.
As for showing in le Paree, Paul is due to be the first South Australian to do so, proudly bringing SA design to an international forefront in one of the world’s most desirable fashion capitals.
“The height of fashion is haute couture and Paris is the home of couture,” Paul explains, “Paris is the epicentre of the fashion world. This really feels like an introduction into that world.”
From dressing Kim Kardashian on the cover of Vogue Australia, to repeatedly dressing celebrities attending the Academy Awards and Golden Globes, Paolo Sebastian is a beloved local label that we just can’t seem to fault.
