Photo Diary: A Trip to Byron Bay with Dye Me Swimwear

Hopping on board the tie-dye trend this summer? We highly recommend checking out Dye Me Fashion‘s new swim line if you have a spot of seaside frolicking lined up. A local Sydney brand dedicated to a flurry of colourful tie-dye, Dye Me offers a playful range of comfort-meets-style goods. In fact, you may or may not have spied our last post styling with their loungewear sets.

While we haven’t always been the biggest fans of tie-dye, we’ve actually come to rate it these past few months. Seeing the trend take the fashion industry by storm, we’ve certainly stumbled across a few select pieces we’ve grown to love. Those include the gorgeous one-piece and two-piece swimsuits we recently received from Dye Me.

It just so happens that the week before whisking away on our Byron Bay holiday, our Dye Me package conveniently arrived in the mail. Perfect timing or what? We stuffed our goodies in the suitcase, threw in some styling accessories, and set off for Australia’s very own backpacking paradise.

Ahh, beautiful Byron. Where wearing no shoes and washing your hair once a month is considered the norm. Some may call it overrated, we call it irresistibly charming. The popular surf town felt like a true holiday destination as soon as we stepped foot off the plane. With humid air enveloping us like a warm hug and the sounds of chirping birds off in the distance, there was no denying we’d arrived in a tropical paradise — just what we needed after a full year of being restricted by border closures!

Days were spent lazing on white sandy shores, snorkelling lively reefs and learning to surf. By night, our party personas took over. Dotted in between, a refreshing poke bowl or bowl of creamy mussels went down a treat. It was serious holiday bliss.

With the ideal balance of wholesome exploring and late nights drinking, Byron Bay ticked every single box we could have hoped for and more. And thankfully, our sweet tie-dye sets kept us looking fresh from dusk ’til dawn.

This colourful photo diary showcases some snippets of our Byron Bay trip and, of course, our fabulous swim sets. Our Airbnb also happened to be blessed with the most photogenic and on-brand balcony ever, so — naturally — we had to stage a shoot against the gorgeous palm tree backdrop.

Mel rocks a cute yet still super sexy purple and blue tie-dye bikini. With a sports bra style of bikini top, this silhouette offers padded support for the bust, and thin adjustable straps to ensure the perfect fit. Fastening at the back with a slide hook, this top is an easy-wear piece that marries comfort with playful style. The bottoms offer mid-coverage and a mid-rise fit — a classic design for beach-dwelling.

Kristen flaunts a flattering one piece which offers a plunging neckline, tie front and sexy cut out detail. As a streamlined design that cinches in an hourglass silhouette, this one piece is one you’ll never want to take off. Add an eye-catching tie-dye print, and you have yourself a winner.

So, out of the two swimsuits, which is your favourite Dye Me design? Would you pack a tie-dye swimsuit for your next tropical escape? Let us know in the comments below and don’t forget to check out Dye Me’s online store here!
