Photo Diary: East London cafe Palm Vaults has us thinkin’ pink

“NO LAPTOP. NO TABLET. EAT, READ, CHAT & DAYDREAM.” YOU’VE BEEN WARNED.

That’s right, it’s a pleasant Sunday morning and Palm Vaults is calling the shots today. This East London hotspot wants you to stop burying your heads deep into your devices when dining in and are asking you to please kindly follow their strict no laptop, no tablet policy. It’s this new thing called ‘living in the moment’, they say… we heard all the cool kids are doing it these days.

Well, fortunately for us, we had no intention of bringing our laptops today when we grabbed a table at the pinkalicious Palm Vaults in Hackney. Meeting up with our two blogger friends Angela of @jacklins and Monika of @elairecreates, we planned to spend the day eating and chatting about Christmas break, New Years parties, boys, and anything else that might just crop up. We did, however, have plans to get our blog on. Thank goodness the cafe was camera and phone friendly.

Splashes of bright pink fill the quaint interior; it is an instantly warming hue that spreads itself across plush couch seating, floral decoration, the crockery used to eat off and even a fully pink-tiled bathroom.

And how could it not be, with the level of Insta-worthy aesthetic in its midst? Splashes of bright pink fill the quaint interior; it is an instantly warming hue that spreads itself across plush couch seating, floral decoration, the crockery used to eat off and even a fully pink-tiled bathroom as a neat, final touch. Complementing it, a lush turquoise glides across signage and marble plates, leading into the bright green pots plants hanging eloquently from the ceiling. If you’re big on posting colour and aesthetic to your Instagram, Palm Vaults is the one for you.

Ordering ourselves a couple of rainbow lattes (one pink, one pastel blue), some cheese and tomato croissants, a slice of banana bread and berries, an avocado toastie and an artisinal donut, we were excited to get this brunch day underway. All this combined with airy music playing softly in the background, Palm Vaults’ dreamy setting was a sure fire way to relax, unwind and enjoy the moment.

Whether you live in Hackney or East London, visit the area regularly or are hoping to uncover somewhere new and totally unexplored, we couldn’t recommend this darling of a place more. Please can we also stress that the menu is seriously affordable, too. It’s not one of those ultra Insta-worthy spots that bloggers flock to to pose with £6 coffees (haha, we’re totally guilty of this though). No, no, no. Palm Vaults is a locally owned, independent cafe and coffee shop, here to warm your soul when you’re only just reaching the middle of the month and have £20 last you two whole weeks. Think £3.50 juices and coffees, £2 croissants and £6 gourmet toasties.

PSA to you all: please don’t forget to scroll right to the end of this photo diary if you wish to be blessed by the Palm Vaults Chow-meets-Pug doggo.
