We’re back at it again wearing one of our fave Australian fashion blogger’s cute-as clothing line, MGNR by Miss Gunner. When the label first launched we styled some fun pieces for summer, including a playful pair of slashed denim shorts, a button-down blouse with serious French vibes and the label’s eponymous leather-look Gunner shorts. Now that the weather’s less than warm, we both styled the same beige blazer and short set for winter on day two of Australian Fashion Week.
MGNR is known for its modern, clean and minimalist style, and this blazer set is no exception. Comprising of the Simone Tailored Shorts and the Riley Double Breasted Jacket, this set has become an absolute staple in our wardrobes, both as a pairing and as individual pieces. The chino shorts feature a flattering high waist and practical side pockets, while the blazer has shoulder pads to give it a sartorial, oversized dad fit and pocket detail.
Kristen styled the beige set in a tonal look, complete with a chocolate brown Kookai knit and caramel brown knee-high Billini boots. She finished it off with a dark brown lip to tie everything together. Mel paired it with a cream turtleneck, black strappy Pink Inc heels, a snake print Aphro & Co. handbag and a green flat cap to add a pop of colour.
Since Australian Fashion Week, we’ve also worn the pieces individually with other staple pieces in our wardrobe. The double breasted blazer looks super cute when worn with any mini skirts or shorts for that chic oversized blazer look with bare legs. Tucking the front of a cream or white jumper into the front of the shorts creates a great casual winter outfit too, or tucking a light knit into it and teaming it with a brown teddy bear coat and some boots.
You can find these pieces and browse the rest of the collection on the MGNR website, and follow the Instagram @shopmgnr for styling inspo and new drops.
