Following their first single ‘The Strut’, local Adelaide rock group Venice Queens have released their new song ‘Tijuana’, and it’s all good vibes, good vibes.
If you’ve made an appearance to any of their gigs in the past month, this song wouldn’t be new to the ears, but now we can finally add it to our yearning playlists. A perfect song for the roll-in of summer with its laid-back guitar riffs and happy lyrics.
Lead singer, Sam Little, wrote the song in London after attending StreatLife Festival at Alexandra Palace, which he says is one of the best afternoons of his life.
“There was a lovely young lady siting up on this makeshift stage with an acoustic guitar and an absolutely angelic voice. She did her own songs and finished off with ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ by Oasis. It was shortly after the terror attacks in London so it turned into a big sing-along,” Sam says.
“When I got back, we were just jamming one day and the boys came up with this awesome summery riff. The lyrics fit and it all came together in about 20 minutes.”
VQ’s launch of their new single is this Saturday at the West Oak Hotel, so strut down and share a couple of bevs with the boys.
