Brace yourselves Adelaidians! The Feast Festival is on its way with a list of over 70 entertainment opportunities throughout the month of November. The festival will host a combination of music, art, film and entertainment to celebrate Feast’s 21 years of LGBTIQ pride.
On board the ambassador list for this year’s festival are three big names across Adelaide. This includes sports legend Erin Phillips, award winning visual arts wizard Raymond Zada, and cabaret favourite, Trevor Ashley. Ashley will also be on stage alongside the symphony orchestra (Fri 10th – Sat 11th) to perform ‘Diamonds Are For Trevor’, a rendition of Shirley Bassey classics in celebration of her 80th birthday.
The Feast Festival has collated a range of artists and performers to showcase their talent on a platform where members of the LGBTIQ community can feel openly accepted. It celebrates all aspects of Australian culture, diversity and equality.
The line-up of performers and events is full of crowd favourites, but the ‘Opening Night Party’ is definitely one not to be missed. The night has some awesome South Australian (and interstate) acts expected to take the stage following a harmonious pride march for all to take part in. So bring along the rainbow flag and dancing shoes on Saturday the 11th!
Headlining the Opening Party is 1999 Aria Awards winner Joanne, who will take us back to the realm of the 90’s which we just can’t get enough of. She will be performing alongside NIMA’s ‘New Talent of the Year’ award winner, Electric Fields. These guys are expected to bring some exciting and moving tunes to the table in a rare combination of dance and soul, which has been intertwined with traditional music elements to reflect cultural background.
