Hebe & Co are a brand new, locally owned makeup and skincare store exclusively stocking vegan friendly and cruelty free products. Located in Regent Arcade, Rundle Mall, this quaint new store is taking care of all your beauty needs, one ethically sourced lipstick at a time.
Walking up to Hebe & Co, you are greeted by a sign out the front that proudly states ‘Cruelty Free & Vegan’. Past the tall glass doors and inside the sweet-smelling store, Hebe & Co’s fitout is designed in a way that makes the space feel homely and comforting, like you’ve stepped into your grandma’s house for a cup of tea. The wooden intertior was, in fact, put together by owner Jenny Tibbenham‘s husband, keeping business in the family.
Speaking of keeping it in the family, Jenny works very closely with her family in running Hebe & Co; her daughter Sian looks after social media while her other daughter, Georgia, works behind the counter also alongside Jenny’s sister Val. Even the name ‘Hebe & Co’, inspired by Greek mythology, was a idea brought about by another family member altogether. It truly is an entirely family run, locally owned and wholesome Adelaide business.
The store currently stocks 15 retailers, 10 of which are Australian. The list of ethical brands includes RCMA, Saya, Medusa’s Makeup, Ere Perez, Concrete Minerals, First Light Organics, Coconut Tree, Lucerna, Byron Bay Skincare, Fresca, Adorn, Handsome, Kryolan and Hanami.
We got particularly stuck on the Medusa’s Makeup range – brought in from the US – which showcased some of the most vibrant and pigmented colours we had the pleasure of swatching. The highlighter from MM absolutely stole our hearts with its glittery, gold-toned shimmer, and the glitter pots were simply stunning.
You can follow Hebe & Co on Facebook here for updates on stock or, alternatively, head into the store to try out some of the testers yourself at Shop 12, Regent Arcade, Rundle Mall. We promise you won’t regret it!
