Future-proofing our skin with Ultra Violette

Ultra Violette Skincare

If you’re not using SPF in your daily skincare routine, what are you doing? It’s no secret daily sun protection is the key to having healthy skin, preserving its youthfulness and protecting it from Australia’s harsh UV rays. We’ve been big SPF fans for a long time, and one brand that’s been on our radar for a while is Ultra Violette.

The vibrant packaging, fun names and sassy marketing were enough to get us curious about this Aussie suncare brand, and then we heard all the glowing reviews. Friends, family and colleagues have all said great things about Ultra Violette – in fact, when my package arrived at the office the other week, everyone commented on how much they loved the brand, how it was the best sunscreen. But why has this beauty brand become such a cult classic, and how are the products so different to other face sunscreen options on the market?

The only way to answer these questions was to try Ultra Violette out ourselves. We were lucky enough to be gifted a few products from their range, and here are our thoughts.

Ultra Violette Skincare

Queen Screen SPF50+ Luminising Serum Skinscreen boasts a unique formula as the SPF is delivered to your skin in a lightweight serum. It’s the most popular Ultra Violette product, and we can see why. If you don’t like sunscreens that are super thick, white and leave an oily finish on your skin, Queen Screen is the exact opposite of that. The milky formula feels like it just melts away into your skin, and makes a great base for makeup.

The perfect power duo, Daydream Screen SPF50+ Tinted Veil makes for a dreamy second step after Queen Screen. This tinted sunscreen offers sheer to light coverage that gives you an amazingly natural, glowy finish that’s really beautiful for everyday wear – whether it’s to work or for a sunny day at the beach.

Although we might be covering up in winter, we can’t forget about the hands! Our hands are always exposed to the sun, and without proper sun protection can face some serious damage over the years. Though the Extreme Screen SPF50+ Hydrating Body & Hand Skinscreen can be used all over your body as an everyday sunscreen, we love to keep it on our desks at work and use it as a hand cream. Not only does it offer us the protection of SPF50+, but it’s also 4 hours water resistant and uses pentavitin, aloe vera and vitamin e to keep your hands moisturised throughout the day. It also has a tiny bit of shimmer in the formula, making it perfect for giving your legs a little sheen if they’re coming out to play.

Ultra Violette Skincare

The brains behind Ultra Violette, Ava Matthews and Bec Jefferd, wanted to fill a gap in the market for facial sunscreen that looked as good as it performed. They wanted something fun that had an offering for every skin type, while also acting as an extra dose of nutrition for your skin. We can confirm they’ve done just that.

If you’re keen to get some of Ultra Violette’s stunning products onto your bathroom shelf, you can pick them up on their website or in-store at Sephora.
