I’d consider myself to be a bit of a faux tan connoisseur. I’ve been home tanning since I was in high school, which is longer ago than I’d care to admit, and I’ve tried dozens of brands and formulas in my time. To celebrate the launch of Puretan‘s new packing they sent us over their range to try, and one bottle in particular has me hooked.
The package arrived just after I’d flown back from London, which was great timing as it was the height of Aussie summer and I was pale as a ghost. I immediately jumped in the shower with my new Intensive Body Exfoliating Mitt (from Puretan, obvs) to get off all that dry skin and prep my body for a layer of tan. As this was an outright emergency and I needed an immediate tan, I pumped a whole lot of the 30 Minute Xpress Tan Foam onto the Luxe Tanning Body Mitt and got to work coating my body in it.
My first thoughts were that I liked how dark it applied – it made it easy to spot any areas I’d missed and ensure everything was nice and blended. It was a gorg colour too, and true to its promise, within 30 minutes I was already looking nice and golden. This is definitely going to be my new go-to for busy weeks when I don’t have much time to tan, but since I had some time that day and I was devastatingly pale, I left it on for a couple of extra hours just to really let it set into my skin.
As well as the 30-minute mousse, Puretan also has a range of tans to suit any preference. From instant tans to gradual, lotions to face, there’s enough variety even the pickiest of tanners will find something.
The new packaging looks super premium, using accents of gold and black against white packaging. All the bottles are made from post-consumer recycled materials that can be recycled again after use, making it super eco-conscious. This pairs perfectly with Puretan’s plant-based and eco-friendly formulas, resulting in a brand that’s as kind to your skin as it is to the earth.
