Meet fashion’s newest secret weapon: Clutch

Clutch Clothing Adhesive

We know what you’re thinking, and no Clutch isn’t an innovative new purse. However, it can fit in your purse. Clutch is a new style of clothing adhesive, the 2023 version of Celebrity Tape (let’s be honest, that stuff never used to sit right anyway). Rather than coming in fussy little straps and patches, Clutch is a skin-friendly liquid adhesive that you can use to keep necklines in place, straps on shoulders and bike shorts from riding up.

Coming in a vibrant pink and red tube, it looks and applies a little like a lip balm – but don’t go applying it on your lips. Simply squeeze a little bit out of the tube where you’d like to stick your clothing, leave for 30 seconds to become extra tacky and then gently press your clothing onto the glue. It’s as simple as that, and the free-flowing liquid application makes it super easy to use, no matter the cut of your clothing.

Once you’re home and ready to remove, all you need to do is gently peel the clothing from your skin, rinse your skin with water (Clutch is water-soluble) and pop your clothes in with the next wash cycle. So easy, even drunk you can do it after a night out wearing your fave dress.

We gave Clutch a test run and loved how simple but effective it is. It glides on smoothly and isn’t uncomfortably sticky, but sets enough that our dress necklines stayed place all night. We had a pretty chill autumn’s night out at dinner and drinks so didn’t run into any issues with the weather, however as Clutch is water soluble we’d probably bring it along with us if we were heading out on a rainy evening in case we needed to reapply throughout the night. Fortunately, the tube is the perfect size for travel so would easily fit into a handbag or purse.

As well as being a super practical product, Clutch is also vegan and uses 100% recyclable and recycled packaging. It’s definitely a new staple in our lives, and if you’d like to try it out you can grab it off the very aesthetic Clutch website.
