Soul Trader presents The Red Dress

Last night, fashion connoisseur Filip With An F and Adelaide’s LGBTIQ extravaganza Feast Festival hosted a night of brilliance in the shade of red at the Soul Trader store on Payneham Road.

Stepping past the red carpet entrance and into the venue, the inside of Soul Trader had been dramatically transformed into an incredible pop-up runway for The Red Dress fashion event, with elegant vintage-style couches gracing the sidelines and fake grass lining the bar area.

The Red Dress runway showcased a vast array of fabulous designer dresses from the likes of Dannii Minogue, Steven Khalil, Zhivago, Phoenix Keating, One Fell Swoop, Nicola Finetti, Matcho Suba of Project Runway, Matthew Eager, Acler, C/meo Collective, Simmone Standing, Jaimie Sortino, S.I.G. the label, couture+love+madness, Stephanie Chehade, Liza Emanuele and more.

We saw signature styles repeated in vibrant shades of red such as the magnificent structured crop from Simmone Standing The Label and our favourite two piece crop and skirt set from Casper & Pearl.

The range also covered a select few new styles and gowns, as well as creations seen on Logie and Oscar red carpets screaming glitz and glamour.

But the night was not solely dedicated to breathtaking fashion. Behind the concept, event co-producer Filip Odzak (Filip With An F) says The Red Dress was inspired by Red Ribbon Day: a day which seeks to raise awareness and support for those living with HIV, commonly known as ‘World Aids Day.’

“Soul Trader presents The Red Dress is an exciting twist on a well established concept to raise awareness for a worthy cause and will be a highlight event on this year’s Feast Festival program.,” he said.

In keeping with this notion, all donations are going towards SA Mobilisation and Empowerment for Sexual Health, providing support and education for sexual health in South Australia.

As Red Ribbon Day is traditionally celebrated on the 30th of November, Feast Festival brought forward the celebrations earlier this year with their The Red Dress event, offering a range of on-flowing wines and Krispy Kreme donuts for just a gold coin donation to keep the party pumping!

And thanks to our talented locals, the event ended up a huge success, having Sunday Mail fashion editor Cimon Vozzo styling the event and Cain Rumbelow of Tempest Hair looking after the hair and make-up of models from Finesse Models Australia.

The show closed with a glittering drag queen show and an after party, ending everyone’s night in style as we mixed and mingled ’til late.
