Christmas is comingggg and we honestly couldn’t be more excited for our first chilly Christmas. One of our favourite summer hangouts, SFG Club’s Roof East has just undergone a huge revamp for the festive season, and we were lucky enough to be invited to pop past and check it out.
Though it’s on a rooftop, there’s no need to worry about being cold. As well as plenty of heaters dotted around to keep you warm, there are two massive chalet bars with plenty of cosy seating inside to fit you and all your friends. Hot cocktails are also being served at the bar, and we’d highly recommend the mulled cider or the boozy hot chocolate (complete with whipped cream and tiny marshmallows).
If you’re after something a little different, try Jubel Beer. Crafted in an alpine style that blends sweet peaches into the brew, it’s like a less sweet, extremely flavoursome version of a fruit cider.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the film Cool Runnings, the entire space has been given a Jamaican winter oases makeover. Think fairy lights draped over palm trees, vibrant colours and plenty of traditional Christmas décor. In honour of the film, Roof East now has a brand-new curling space, with plenty of lanes set up for you to challenge your friends. If you’d rather curl up inside in the warmth, ice hockey tables can be found inside the chalets for some winter fun without the chill.
If you’re keen to try your hand at some curling, you can book through the website here. Otherwise, if you’d prefer to grab yourself a boozy hot chocolate and huddle ’round a rustic table with friends, you can pop past after 5pm Monday to Friday and from 12pm Saturday and Sunday.
