It’s that time of year when our wardrobes are in need of a total seasonal revamp. Thankfully, Astor + Tyne are making spring shopping easy this year with a whole new look-book of gorgeous light, comfortable and 100% wearable pieces.
We attended the Astor + Tyne 2017/18 spring and summer collection launch, hosted in the beautifully decked out Unley Town Hall. With a champagne in hand and decadent Just Bliss Chocolates nearby, the ambience of the location was perfectly set to prepare guests for what was nothing short of a killer catwalk.
All the garments we saw in the collection are non-restrictive with plenty of sleeveless, loose-fitting alternatives for weather proof comfort and practicality; helping you look and feel like you’re on vacation all year round.
The designers behind the label, Melanie and Nicola, pride themselves on the ‘luxe and love’ motive behind their creations, which is truly reflected in the quality and individuality of their range.
What we love about the new line is also the value. Nearly all pieces can be worn from day time errands to your night time festivities, and can be mixed and matched to create loads of varied looks containing an exotic and urban feel.
However, what really stood out during the launch was the range of fresh, vibrant textiles Astor + Tyne have introduced. If florals aren’t your thing, a leafy palm print is the perfect way to incorporate some colour. The girls nailed it with their ‘Tropics’ prints, which were used for a number of the ensembles.
Melanie and Nicola also used their stylish flair to design some flowy neutral pieces. The three quarter ‘Avenge’ culottes will definitely be hot in stores, particularly the ‘White Cotton Cut Out’ style which gives the trend a whole new edge.
You can also expect to see some sophisticated black and white check prints used in correlation with quirky cuts and abstract detailing, perfect to achieve that office chic look.
The catwalk ended with a sneak peak of next season’s collection, reassuring everyone that good things are coming, whilst trend-setting way ahead of the rest!
Astor + Tyne now have eleven stockists in widespread locations across South Australia alone, but plan on expanding their range on both a national, and international basis.
