Street and Skate Runway introduces Lex the Label

Lex the Label’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection was showcased on the Street and Skate Runway in the midst of the Daily Grind Skate Co. Glenelg’s GAME of S.K.A.T.E. The show was a finale to Fashion at the Bay, part of the 2016 Adelaide Fashion Festival.

The woman behind the magic is local emerging designer and Blogger, Alexandra Schapel.
The 24-year-old Melbourne School of Fashion graduate launched the label in March this year. Lex the Label is strongly influenced by her personal style and coincides with the simplistic but urban vibe on her blog, Black Arrow Blog.

She describes her style as ‘minimalist, edgy but effortless’ and bases her looks around classic, monochrome wardrobe staples that you can style over and over again.

Her signature style was evident in her latest collection. The looks were predominantly black and white pieces with a touch of khaki. The loose fitting garments, constructed of light fabrics, such as sheer linens and silks, draped off the body in an effortless manner. While maintaining their fundamental sophisticated style, pieces were given an edge with asymmetric collars or hemlines and accented with silver, circular hardware.

Looks were emphasised with thick chokers or synched with timeless leather belts, and styled with a variation of sneakers and heels to show the versatility of the collection.
